Breakfast – Begin your day at Backatown Coffee Parlour located just outside of the French Quarter. With a cup of coffee and a slice of sweet potato pie in hand, you’re all set for a great day exploring New Orleans.
Backstreet Cultural Museum – Located in Tremé, the Backstreet Cultural Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Mardi Gras Indians and other New Orleans traditions within the Black community. Visit to see hand-beaded costumes, old photographs and other memorabilia. Tickets are $10 cash only.
Lunch – Stay in Tremé for lunch and enjoy a meal of gumbo and fried chicken at Dooky Chase Restaurant. Other restaurants in the area offer soul food, seafood and vegan options.
JAMNOLA – Make your way over to the Bywater for a one-of-a-kind interactive experience. JAMNOLA is a new attraction in New Orleans that highlights the music, art and culture of the city with larger-than-life murals, 3-D displays and sensory experiences. Reserve your timed entry ticket in advance and have your camera ready for when you visit.
Crescent Park – Catch the Mississippi River from a different vantage point at Crescent Park. The 20-acre urban linear park is perfect for an afternoon stroll or bike ride at sunset.
Dinner – End your day exploring NOLA with dinner in the Bywater. Might we suggest Bacchanal for wine and cheese, or how about Paladar 511 for pizza and pasta. Indulge after a day well spent in New Orleans.
